"You can volunteer as little or as much time as you can spare, everything helps. Volunteering is a rewarding experience especially when you see the fun that the girls are having."
"Girlguiding has moulded me. I have tried new things, found new opportunities and faced challenges. I have learnt the value of teamwork and leadership, all whilst having fun. Thank you Girlguiding for your beliefs and values."
"The thing I love about volunteering with the Girlguiding is that I feel like I’m giving something back to my local community whilst constantly learning new things. I really enjoy seeing how our guides gain confidence and even face fears through some of the activities and challenges they set themselves. Knowing I am a part of that is a real privilege"
"Being a Commissioner running a District or Division has it's challenges. With understanding, patience and a sense of humour these challenges are overcome and a team of happy volunteers emerge to support each other and give the girls the best possible experiences. Thank you to all the dedicated volunteers who make Girlguiding happen."
"Being a Brownie Leader is all about watching and helping the girls to complete challenges, have fun and adventures and make new friends. It is so rewarding and brings a sense of achievement when a Brownie simply says 'Thank you Brown Owl for being my Brown Owl'."
"The badges are so fun and interesting to do. I get to see all my friends and if you are upset they will make you laugh. I love making stuff and making new friends from different schools. My leaders are so kind."
Brownie aged 9
"I loved being a guide, because of the fun activities we did and the amazing opportunities I got to experience. I now can't wait to volunteer as a young leader."
Young Leader aged 14
"I like being a guide because I can learn and do more things and to know I have done it properly I will get a badge."
Guide aged 10
"Being a leader in Girlguiding is a joy as you help & support our members grow & develop into our future I have had many fabulous opportunities personally and formed lots of happy memories to reflect on forever Being a Commissioner has been a privilege. I have made some life-long friendhips and developed new skills that help me everyday in my life outside of Girlguiding. I really enjoyed the challenge and tried lots of things I would not have done otherwise. "
"I always looked back fondly at my times as a Guide and felt it really influenced the person I became. As a volunteer I am able to help girls to experience something similar and to grow in confidence and independence."
Brownie and Guide Leader
"My daughter was very nervous about leaving rainbows and starting brownies. The care and support she has received has seen her grow into a confident and self sufficient person. She can't wait for her next Brownie adventure!"
