Testimonials

"I like being a guide because I can learn and do more things and to know I have done it properly I will get a badge."

Guide aged 10

"I always looked back fondly at my times as a Guide and felt it really influenced the person I became. As a volunteer I am able to help girls to experience something similar and to grow in confidence and independence."

Brownie and Guide Leader

"Thank you very much for delivering our Brownie Activity Packs, much appreciated. I have received a few thank yous from some of our parents who have said that their daughters cannot wait to start to work through the pack which is lovely to hear. "

Brownie Leader

"You can volunteer as little or as much time as you can spare, everything helps. Volunteering is a rewarding experience especially when you see the fun that the girls are having."

Rainbow Leader

"The thing I love about volunteering with the Girlguiding is that I feel like I’m giving something back to my local community whilst constantly learning new things. I really enjoy seeing how our guides gain confidence and even face fears through some of the activities and challenges they set themselves. Knowing I am a part of that is a real privilege"

Assistant Leader

"Being a Commissioner running a District or Division has it's challenges. With understanding, patience and a sense of humour these challenges are overcome and a team of happy volunteers emerge to support each other and give the girls the best possible experiences. Thank you to all the dedicated volunteers who make Girlguiding happen."

Division Commissioner

"The badges are so fun and interesting to do. I get to see all my friends and if you are upset they will make you laugh. I love making stuff and making new friends from different schools. My leaders are so kind."

Brownie aged 9

"Being a Brownie Leader is all about watching and helping the girls to complete challenges, have fun and adventures and make new friends. It is so rewarding and brings a sense of achievement when a Brownie simply says 'Thank you Brown Owl for being my Brown Owl'."
